I HAVE to leave a dessert recipe today...this one looks to-die-for good to me, for some weird reason. I haven't tried it yet (so you're on your own) but a friend of mine gave it to me and said it's killer good.

Caramel Brownies

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Melt 14-ounce bag of caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Set aside.

Combine 3/4 cup very soft butter, 1 box German chocolate cake mix and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Mix by hand until all the powder is incorporated.

Pat 1/2 of mixture into a 13X9 inch pan.

Bake 6 minutes at 350 degrees.

Sprinkle 1 cup chocolate chips over baked base and spread caramel over chips.

Drop rest of mix by small spoonfuls over top and spread around (flatten with hands and lay it in pieces on the top, because it's tough to spread because of the soft caramel.)

Bake 15-20 minutes more.

Cool and refrigerate.

That recipe looks so tempting--and so do those books. I love humor.

Thank you, Linda!!! I don't try to be funny, but some things just can helped but show up in a book.

Omigosh -- now caramel brownies. I'm going shopping tomorrow; will have to get the ingredients for these. My daughter will LOVE them. :-)

I also have these and I agree, they are fun reads. Good luck to those who don't already have them.

I'm hungry this morning...and want to leave you with something for the day, one of my grandmother's recipes:

Cherry Dessert

Crust:
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 stick butter

Mix together and press into dish.

Filling:
16 oz. cream cheese
2 cups sugar

Mix together and spread over crust. Then put a layer of Cool Whip on this. Sprinkle with pecans or walnuts on Cool Whip.

Slice 2 or more bananas for next layer. Spread on one can cherry pie filling on top of this.
